Fallen Sands

Longing the long road — never coming to end.
Yearned for so many years with nothing earned.
Searched the most wretched through filth and guilt.
And at last, found that lasting peace — love.

Saw the sowed seed and the fruit of its creed,
Its promises heard from the wings of its dove.
I saw with glass eyes its angel fly by.
She dressed the air fresh with peach and color dare.

I touched her loving hair with love and with care.
She clasped my hands tight, so tight I had grabbed,
But now I am lone — with hands full of sand.
My time is now shattered, my heart has torn my peace,

And that last piece of love, it’s been lost at last.
I shall build my castle tall with torments of my past.
With my heart still longing and these red cut up hands,
I will build my castle here with these wet fallen sands.
